Mounting an L-Class server in an HP10642 rack

Hi,

Is it possible to mount a L-Class server in an HP10642 rack ? Whcih rack mount kit would be required?

Yes it can.

You need the 100kg sliding shelf 234672-B21

Note however that as these servers need to be slid out of the rack for servicing you need to provide some stability for them when slid out. This means that you must either:

Have the rack tied to the floor (and be confident the floor tiles won't come up!)
-or-
bayed (tied) with a miniumum of 4 adjacent racks.

If you actually have the 10KG2 rack then instaed of this you could order the heavy duty stabilizer kit - AF064A

If you haven't taken these precautions, then when your friendly HP engineer comes to service your L class you might find he refuses to slide it out of the rack! (or worse gets crushed when it topples over...)
