Mux board cabling, J3830-60010 pinouts for modem cable

I have an RP7410 running HPUX 11.i and I'm hooking a modem up to the machine. I have a 25pin to RJ45 adaptor. The pin out from the Multiplexer manual from HP has the RJ-45 pinout with 10 pins. I thought the rj45 only had 8 pins. I need to know how to wire an rj-45 cable on both ends to plug a modem into a fan out cable. This is the link I looked at:

Hi Jeff,

does this help?

http://docs.hp.com/en/5966-8413/ch04s06.html

Maybe better image quality here:

If not, search http://docs.hp.com for J3830 for more results.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Mux board cabling, J3830-60010 pinouts for modem cable

This is the same link I had. However it shows the RJ-45 connector with 10 pins. RJ-45 connectors only have 8 pins. How do I pin it out to connect them?

Re: Mux board cabling, J3830-60010 pinouts for modem cable

If I google for "10 pin rj45" I receive so many results, this isn't a mistake.

There are also hits about rj45 (10 pin) and modem adapters.

But sorry, I don't remeber the details for this mux, just too long ago ...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
