Re: My server restarts with no explication

Hi,

The AR command allows the operator to enable, disable, and configure the
Automatic System Restart (ASR). ASR is triggered by each alert level value
that is configured. For instance, for levels 12 and higher, you would
specify alerts "12 13 14 15" for the triggering condition.

The default is level 13. Setting ASR for alert levels below 10 is strongly
discouraged.

Yes, when a level 13 alert is triggered, your system will restart. This option should be disbaled. Also "Automatic Display of System Alerts" should be enabled.

Re: My server restarts with no explication

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

I will enable the automatique display.

I anderstand that my configuration allow the automatique restart when Alert Level bellow 13. So i don't anderstand why my system restarts ?! The Log entry#0 shows a boot with alert level on 0.

Would you see another reason that would explain theses restarts ?

Thanks for your help.

Re: My server restarts with no explication

Hi,

It can not be told with this one entry itself. You should have some other logs in /var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log or /var/adm/crash etc to know more about it.

Also you can try checking the entries in the following logs in GSP.

Also take some time to assign points to the responses to your questions as your profile shows you had never did that. Here are your questions which require this.

Re: My server restarts with no explication

Hi Dahu,

It seems you had more reboots in between. So can not indicate anything about reboot. After every reboot the current syslog.log is copied to OLDsyslog.log. So a OLDsyslog.log will not point anything is you had more than one reboot after the automatic reboot.

Anyway thanks for taking your time to assign points. It helps in improving the forum.
