Mysterious Reboot Of Hp machine
Hello
I have a Hp9000 series machine which has been mysteriously rebooting for the last days.
I have checked for log files and have found the following in /etc/shutdownlog file.
10:25 Wed Aug 30 2006. Reboot after panic: Data page fault
10:58 Fri Sep 01 2006. Reboot after panic: Data page fault
11:55 Mon Sep 04 2006. Reboot after panic: Data page fault
09:29 Tue Sep 05 2006. Reboot after panic: Data page fault
10:38 Sat Sep 09 2006. Reboot after panic: Data page fault
18:04 Sat Sep 09 2006. Reboot after panic: Data page fault
22:00 Sat Sep 9, 2006. Halt:
It seems that after giving a data page fault, the machine gets rebooted
Is a hardware problem?
What can I do to resolve this situation?
Thanks
Karl
I've attached some logs for it can help.

Re: Mysterious Reboot Of Hp machine
A data page fault usually indicates some sort of software or patch issue.
Open a call with HP and they will tell you what they need to analyze this issue. They can then recommend the patch or patches that need to be installed.

Re: Mysterious Reboot Of Hp machine
Hi Karl,
Attested logs are not sufficient to diagnoise the reboot issue. Even i would suggest you to register a case with HP and forward the below mentioned logs for further analysis.
Check if there are any crash directory under /var/adm/crash, if so please forward the entire directory to the remote support
engineer. Crash file will be a very huge file u can request the remote engineer to create an ftp account and u can upload there.
Check if there is a ts99 file created under
/var/tombstones/ts99 (with latest time stamp)
/var/opt/resmon/log/event.log
/var/stm/log/os/ccerrlog
#swlist -l product
These logs should be sufficient to conclude on the issue.
Best Regards,
Prashanth

Re: Mysterious Reboot Of Hp machine
I have not find any solution on this error.
We have applied some patches from Support Plus CD and in this moment, the error hasn't turned up.
Thanks to all
