N 4000 & L2000

Hi,

We are planning to buy a refurbished HP N4000 or L 2000 Server. I have some questions...

1) When are N 4000 & L 2000 reaching End Of Life ?
2) Are these servers stable ( Hardware )?
3) How may Internal HDDs fit into these servers and of what capacity ( 73 GB ) ?
4) What entry level SCSI Storage is recommended for these servers ? ( Initially 36GB *4 SCSI HDD)

Re: N 4000 & L2000

Hi here are some answers
1. see this link
http://search.hp.com/redirect.html?url=http%3A//forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do%3FthreadId%3D90494&qt=servers+%2Bend+%2Bof+%2Blife&hit=2

this says that the h/w details are not published on the web.
2. Yes the servers are very stable
3. 2 for the N4000 and 4 for the L2000 and yes they do have 73gb drives
4. you could put the o/s on a 9gb drive but it depends waht else you are going to put on the system, so 18/36 gb drives are readily available
hope this helps

Re: N 4000 & L2000

The L2000 will reach it's end of life in November 2006.

The N4000 will reach it's end of life in March 2006.

The hardware is considered stable using the latest firmware.

Parts information for both are available from http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/hw/index.html
