N4000 CPU capacity

Could anyone tell me the maximum amount of CPU's an N4000 can have.

Hi David,

Be advised that Ns & Ls for that matter, need a support module (PSM) for every 2 CPUs.
So if you're ordering/installing your own CPUs, don't forget the need to order/install those as well.

Hi David:

Also keep in mind that the N4000 isn't limited to the 360/440/550MHz CPU.

The N4000 (model number A3639) has an A, B, and a C model (A3639A, A3639B, A3639C). The A model can use 360 and 440MHz CPU, the B version can use 550MHz CPUs, and the A3639C, while technically an rp7400, can use 650 and 750MHz CPUs. You can upgrade into higher models by swapping out some of the internals and backplane.

You cannot use 875MHz CPUs, though.
