N4000 migration to rp34x0

We currently have a site with the following configuration.
2 x N4000 4 way 440MHz 3.5 GB running 11.0 w MC service guard
1 x Surestore E SC10 disk system.
1 x N4000 2 way 440MHz 1.5 GB running 11.0. 1x surestore E SC10 disk system

We are considereing whether it will be practicle to migrate to similarly sized rp34x0 systems ?

Will HP-UX 11.0 work on the newer rp34x0 machines ?

Is there any chance that such a migration would result in a TCO saving over the next 2-3 years?

Hi,

HP-UX 11.0 is ending its life time. So why don't you move into hpux 11i.

Upgrade to 11iV1. I will have to consider that carefully.

The main motivation for switching to new machines is savings on maintainace and support. Migrating Oracle Applications to from UX11.0 to UX11iv1 would result in extra costs.

Hi Simon,

I've never encountered any problems with apps when migrating from 11.0 to 11.11.
Almost ALL binaries have no trouble. Only thing I've ever seen have problems is something that digs *deep* into the kernel & these are normally OS utils or third party apps like lsof.

And NO - the new rp systems require 11.11 & cannot run 11.0
