N4000 power monitor board

Hi,

we have got a N4000 server. After we connect the power cords, the heartbeat LED on the power monitor board is linking yellow.
Is this normal, or does the LED shows me an error??
There is only one board in the server, altough there is a place for the second one on the mainboard...

Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: N4000 power monitor board

Hi Laszlo!!

The amber light on the Power Monitor is normal.

There is only requirement for 1 in your system. The other slot is for a 'trim-card', which should be installed if you have all 8 cpu's installed.

Hope this helps!

Re: N4000 power monitor board

Thanks, Ron, for your answer.

My amber LED is flashing, is this OK?

What is a "trim card"? I have 8x 750 MHz cpus installed... - should I have a second card there?

Where can I find a detailed documentation of the PMB?

Thanks & kind regards,

Laszlo

Re: N4000 power monitor board

Hey Laszlo!!

The 'trim card' for an N4000 fully populated with CPU's in a 'B' revision board. However, your system is a 'C' revision, so don't quote me on that.

The amber light on your Platform monitor is a normal condition. This boards functionality is fan/cooling monitoring. If there were a problem with any of the fans, GSP would let you know.

Re: N4000 power monitor board

Hi again Laszlo!! Have a peek at this 'hardware manual'. It may have something there for you.
