I have an N4000 ver c .I installed 6 750 procs and 6 gig of memory.I am loading 11.0 hpux.It loads the 715 files fine then on the first reboot I get this error.
Alert level:12=software failure

type 31=legacy pa hex
type 11=timestamp
all of my processors have tested fine and the memory also.I also have changed everything out and I still get this error.
I really appreciate any help on this.

Re: N4000

Hi

You can try to deconfigured other processors before install.
Do you have another media CDROM? Try with another one

Re: N4000

A couple of things to check:

PDC version of your N4000. This can be read at the INformation Menu with the command FV.

The most recent is 43.22 and can be found here:

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PF_CPIW4322&context=firmware:cpu

Lots of fixes in the past couple of revs.

The other is the release date of your install CD. Anything too old will have problems dealing with the newer hardware.
