Nclass Internal Drives

Is it true that the internal drives are hot swap. I believe they are. I have a failed primary, running on secondary. So, I plan on just swapping the drive while the system is hot.

Indeed they are, Robert. I have done so myself.

Re: Nclass Internal Drives

Hi Robert,

Yes these are hot pluggable. But still you can stop LVM access to the disk if it has some I/O error sort of problem and is still not showing as NO_HW in ioscan.

The procedure is mantioned in this guide.

Re: Nclass Internal Drives

Hi,

There are two terms in this area.

hot-swap: You can simply insert the disk. No need of any other action from OS.

hot-plug: You can plug/unplug disks on line, but you have make manual changes from OS (such lvm commands).

So, n-class internal disks are hot-plug not hot-swap
