New internal disks on L2000 not showing up.

I just installed 2 new internal 36tgb disks in which one shows it with 0 kbytes and the other seems to be 18gb. Previously I was having trouble seeing 2 of the older disks. So could there be a problem with the board or what else do I need to do, to make sure my disk are ok. Thx

I'd say this is a good time to call HP Hardware support. It sounds as if you could have some kind of strange hardware problem.

HP Support would definitely be your best bet.

Re: New internal disks on L2000 not showing up.

Are these new disks HP disks with HP firmware? Usually when diskinfo shows disk of 0 size means disk is bad. Backplane is just a backplane - connectors only. Try exchanging disks within slots and see if problem will go with disk or not. Agree with Patrick - if disks are HP disks then call HP. If disks are not HP disks, then buy HP disks

Re: New internal disks on L2000 not showing up.

You could confirm a couple things:

# ioscan -fnC disk

See what is reported as the model.

# diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c#t#d#

Shows size in kbytes (what you probably already ran)

# dmesg

To see if you are seeing any SCSI errors of any sort.
