Re: No Of cell boards

Brian,

Also it will be a good idea to check from the GSP , using DF and CP .

DF: To display FRU informations.
CP: To display partition cell assignments.

GSP> CM
Then

GSP:CM> DF

and

GSP:CM>CP
-------------

Cheers,
Raj.

Re: No Of cell boards

cell baord 0 is powered OFF and it is not in use.

Cell baord 1 is the only cell baord which is in use and there are 4 CPU installed on this cell board. However max 8 CPUs could be used on the server if you have a license.

Re: No Of cell boards

Hi,

the status of cell 0 is off:

cab0,cell0 power off ? ? ? ? yes 0

You cannot ask a device for its status when it is powered off.
Power on the cell and ask it again.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: No Of cell boards

Brian,

"can someone help with how many cell boards and cpu's on each with the above parstatus -C" :

1. You have 2 cell board on your rp7420 system. ( cell0 and cell1 )

2. cell board 0 is powerd off and will not return any status.(If you want to know about the cpu you have to check and look at the hardware manually after visiting the site.)

3. cell board 1 is active , and having 4 cpu , and can support maximum of 8 cpu.

cheers,
Raj.

Re: No Of cell boards

Brian,

You could also use Support Tools Manager.

cstm
map

This will display the components making up your machine. You can see the number of cells and cpu's.
