No control over console (directly)
I am using hyperterminal direct to connect to the rp5450 but I haven't control over it (able to see but can't type in anythings from my keyboard). My hyperterm setting is 9600/8/None/1/Hardware/vt100
and my GSP mode CA using 9600/Hardware/vt100 as well.
GSP LAN console disable.
Using ^Ecf can't work as well.
How to enable the GSP LAN console?
How to solve the Console using hyperterminal to gain the full access?
Thank and regards,

Re: No control over console (directly)
What are you using for a CABLE and what port do you have it plugged into? You should be using the CONSOLE port. Make sure it's not in the UPS port.

Re: No control over console (directly)
using the search feature to the left under IT resource center with this search string:
+console +port +setting
With the "COMMUNITY FORUMS" checked.
I found this:

Re: No control over console (directly)
I am using hp console cable (DB25-DB9 cable). When the system boot-up I can see all the messages but can not interupt the process.

Re: No control over console (directly)
1) Connect the LAN cable to the LAN Console port.
2) Get the MAC Address of the LAN Console.
3) From any Unix machine .. run ..
# ifconfig lan0
lan0: flags=843
inet
# route add
# arp -s
# ping
Now it should be accesible.

Re: No control over console (directly)
Thanks alot for all your help.
Finally manage to connect direct to the console card.
It's the HP console cable faulty P/N:C24540-80011-1 Made in China (DB25 - DB9)
