ODBC connection
How do you create an ODBC connection from a UNIX server to point to a SQL server?

Re: ODBC connection
I thought ODBC is only for PC environments (95/98/ME/NT/XP/2000) -- for these environments to connect via a custom ODBC driver to remote data sources including SQL Databases?
If you meant how do you have applications on UNIX transact with MS SQL Server (obviously running on Windows Machines) -- then I'd say try looking at JDBC... Or ask Microsoft if it has agents for UNIX apps to be able to talk with Windows SQL Servers.. I suppose there probably are folks sho have written PERL DBI interfaces.. do a Google search...

Re: ODBC connection
You can use ODBC connections for more than just PC applications. We have found an Oracle driver for HPUX, by DataDirect Technologies.

Re: ODBC connection
Hmmmm pretty odd UNIX connecting to SQL Server DB's.. at any rate, do a Google Search for "UNIX to SQL Server ODBC".. you'll find tons of shops offerring ODBC connectors from UNIX to NT/Windows SQL Server...
