Re: PA-8600 What RISC?

Kieran,

How to Determine Your System's PA-RISC Version. With the System Administration Manager (SAM), select: Performance Monitors > System Properties. Your PA-RISC version will appear next to the CPU Version line:

PA 8600-8600 CPU 3.1

I hope this helps.

Good Luck - Tim

Hi,

/stand/vmunix: ELF-64 executable object file - PA-RISC 2.0 (LP64)

If i'm not mistaken the version is 2.0

I think the 3.1 is the cpu firmware version.

Re: PA-8600 What RISC?

3.1 is definitely NOT the PA-RISC version. There is no such thing. A PA-8600 is PA-RISC 2.0.

Bottom of the page. Did I misunderstand this?

Re: PA-8600 What RISC?

It appears I either misunderstood the document, or it is written poorly. Either way, I have done more research and submit the following information to correct my mistake:

PCX-L PA7100LC PA1.1c
PCX-L2 PA7300LC PA1.1e
PCX-L2 PA7300 PA1.1e
PCX-S PA7000 PA1.0
PCX-T PA7100 PA1.1d
PCX-T` PA7200 PA1.1b
PCX-U PA8000 PA2.0
PCX-U+ PA8200 PA2.0
PCX-W PA8500 PA2.0
PCX-W+ PA8600 PA2.0
PCX-W2 PA8700 PA2.0

Sorry about the earlier confusion, "Garbage-In, Garbage-Out." Thanks for keeping me honest, guys!

Re: PA-8600 What RISC?

Only just had time to come back to the forum.

So, a global thank you to all of you.
SAM does show 2.0 on my system. The 'file' command as well.
Thanks again.
