Hello,
Is it necessary to use power management cables for console solutions for new PA-Risc systems.
Thanks in advance.

Please elaborate.

You mean UPS connections?

Re: PA RISC -Hardware Question

Are you talking about the 3 headed dongle that comes with the machine? You just plug it in, and use the one labeled 'console' to plug the console in. The newer machines can do multiple functions with the same connection.

We have no need for the 'UPS' head or the 'Remote' head, they just remain covered up...

Hope it helps

Re: PA RISC -Hardware Question

Hi Subhashni

Power management is basically useful when you have UPS. Its connectivity with system will monitor state of input power and let the system switch over to UPS in case of main power failure and gracefully shutdown the server.
