PCI Power Modules

I have two PCI power modules for the RX8640. Shouldn't these work in the RX7640 as well? I installed them in the 76 and can not get them to power on. Could this be caused by the LPM?

Thanks

Re: PCI Power Modules

Yes, PCI power supplies are the same for these servers. Not sure whether it is caused by IO LPM or not.. But as name says it monitors the power.

What was LED status on the PCI power modules after putting them in rx7640?

What are the part numbers of theses modules?

I would also look at the MP SL/FPL log besides
PS -> T ,I/O backplane and sysrev commands output.

Re: PCI Power Modules

Sameer,
I was certain they were the same. I've swapped between the two servers in the past many times.
They power on fin in the rx8640, but in the rx7640 there are no LED's indicating fault. Only under the MP>CM>PS Fault Detected.
Both servers are used as test beds and worked fine. Then the PCI modules were removed and sold. I'm trying to replace all in both servers.

The module pn is 0950-4637

Re: PCI Power Modules

I would drill down "the MP>CM>PS Fault Detected" under T, I/O to know where the problem is. Can you post sysrev output?

This is of the rx7640 I'm having the issues on.

Re: PCI Power Modules

This is of the rx8640 that the modules are working fine on.

Re: PCI Power Modules

It looks like there is a problem with VRM # 1 on the rx7640 IO Chassis 0.

"Power is off, 1.5V VRM #1 MODULE FAULT"

I have seen IO chassis VRM problems which wouldn't let the power supply turned on even the module is okay.

I think you need to replace the 1.5V VRM # 1 on the IO chassis 0.
