POST Alerts

I'm getting the following during the POST sequence on an L2000. After acknowledging the four alerts, the system proceeds to boot. What are these trying to tell me? (We don't have hardware support on this particular system so calling HP isn't an immediate option.)

These errors indicates that one LBA ( on the system board location 0A ) is missing. The LBA might be failed. This LBA would be belonging to one of the Turbo PCI slots which won't work.If it belongs to shared PCI slots, then all those slots won't work.

Check the IO h/w modules details at
BCH -> IN -> IO

You would see one of the LBAs would be missing there.

You would need to replace the system board if LBA has failed.

I have to agree with Sameer.

from this chassis codes.codes manual we can tell that you have these errors

CC_IO_ASTRO_TEST_CACHE ERROR
CC_IO_CHECK_LBA _MISSING ERROR

If you are in hpux check if all the I/O cards are been seen correctly and working. I think you could have either a backplane or system board problem.

Thanks, guys.

There was no card in slot 10, but I did see that the LBA path did not display in the info section of BCH. Also, trying to insert a SCSI card in the slot to remove a fantom entry with the SCSI command in the service section of BCH did not work.

Looks like this system will be scavenged for parts.
