Re: Physical volume unavailable HP-UX
Is the disk already replaced?
Basic steps are
- pvchange -a n ...
- swap disk
- ioscan
- vgcfgrestore ...
- vgchange ...
- lvlnboot -R
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Physical volume unavailable HP-UX
Hello Torsten,
Thank you for your reply. This system does not have LVM online replacement (OLR) functionality available so in this case i can not use this option. Is there any other idea for this ?
Regards,
Florant

Re: Physical volume unavailable HP-UX
If the disk is NO_HW in ioscan, just skip the lvchange step and pull the disk.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Physical volume unavailable HP-UX
Try
vgchange -a y vg00
and check again with vgdisplay.
OR
with you want to replace the disk, replace it now, since it is UNAVAILABLE in vgdisplay
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Physical volume unavailable HP-UX
Hello
vgchange -a y fails –a option is not recognized, as the LVM OLR feature is not installed.
if i remove the disk , may it couse the panic on the system ? since it shows as claimed on ioscan
