Re: Power supply problem

Hi Gops,

Do a ioscan on the hardware path i.e

ioscan -fnH 0/12/0/0.1.0.255.0.0.0

The o/p you will get will probably be no/hw. I would advise you to log a call with the vendor (HP in most cases) and get the fault part replaced.

Re: Power supply problem

Simplest thing is check ioscan as staed above and place h/w request thats all.

Re: Power supply problem

/tmp # ioscan -fnH 0/12/0/0.1.0.255.0.0.0 > /tmp/ioscan1
/tmp # more ioscan1

I have received the above output. Let me know what should i do then ?

Is there any log file for this.

Re: Power supply problem

Gops,

It may have happened that the power supply has not failed yet but might have lost communication for a few seconds.

Do the following:

Run command parstatus and see what o/p you get in the Cabinet Section - Bulk power supplies.

Let me know.

Re: Power supply problem

Hi Gops,

Whatever o/p you get to the parstatus command, i advise you to log a call with HP and send them the event log. They will definately ask you to send MP logs and if it has not failed and this being the first instance of the event, will ask you to monitor it. If you get the repeat of the same event, they will advise to get it replaced. However, if it has failed this time (after HP has confirmed), they will replace it.

Re: Power supply problem

Hi Gops,
There nothing u can do untill and unless u are a h/w engineer.
Your disks seems to be fine , u have to check power suppy now for any fault.
For the time being u can go to GSP prompt(go to console and press ctrl-B)
and give command
GSP>ps
will show current status of power supply.
BUT H/W case is must if u want to confirm your poer suppy is OK and it will not behave in this manner again.

Re: Power supply problem

Gops,

Do let us know the o/p you get for power supply. I probably think, it has not failed but to be on a safer side it is best to get it confirmed with HP.

Awaiting your reply.

Re: Power supply problem

Which array is this.. Is this HP storage. This Array is in SAN and ps command at GSP> prompt will only show the power supply status of your server and not of the Storage box. Get this supply of the Array physically checked. Log a call with vendor .. For me it seems that the power supy has failed and the array is functioning on a redundant power supply.
