Problem with RP4440

Hi,

I have 2 rp4440 and copy a Hard Disk(HPUX 11.23) for one of the rp4440(firmware 44.21, CPU 900MHZ). I want to use the copy of hard disk in my second rp4440(firmware 45.11, CPU 1000MHZ). When I boot the second rp4440 with the copy of the hard disk the system stop. The problem is this:

Re: Problem with RP4440

Hi,

Try to boot the system as
ISL> hpux -lq

Well, there are other causes for such panic
like wrong contents of Autofile , corrupt BDRA, missing driver due to bad or corrupt kernel.

You can also try
ISL> hpux /stand/vmunix.prev

Re: Problem with RP4440

Thanks Sameer, but I use the two commands and have the same problem. what other way can use to fix this problem.

Re: Problem with RP4440

How did you make the disk copy?

The two systems are different, so maybe there is a difference in the kernel for the different clock rates.

You may need to use Ignite/UX?s

Re: Problem with RP4440

Are these internal or external drives? Can you be more specific about the configurations? Which SCSI interface part numbers. It is possible to have an rp4440 configured with the two internal disks daisy chained off one of the standard SCSI (Core I/O) ports. If this is the case then, the SCSI port that connects the internal disks cannot be used for external connections. If the rp4440 was purchased with the duplex SCSI option (A9740A) then each internal disk is one a separate SCSI us and in this case, neither of the two internal SCSI buses can be used for external connections. Are you trying to use a SCSI port for external use that is also being used for internal use? This won't work.
