Problems with A6795A Fibre Channel PCI XL2 Adapter in HPUX 11.23 Sep-04 OS with L700 Tape library

I have a HP RP440 server running HPUX 11.23 OS with A6795A Fibre Channel PCI XL2 Adapters. We have 3 of these cards. 2 of these are used for SAN Disk, and the third one is connected to Tape SAN Bridge which has a tape library connected to. The backup software has allocated 4 channels to backup. When ever the backups are started, the system holds up all the tape drives, and the backups does not continue. Does any one know if anything is wrong. The following is some of the useful info.

Hi,

Did you follow SAN check list for UNIX?
You didn't post DP version!

SAN checlist for 11.11 is attached.

Also make sure SAN zone configuration and NSR map configuration (if applicable for L700)

The ioscan says all the tape devices are CLAIMED.

Since this is Sept 04 version OS, it has all of those patches

Any other ideas. I was also told, we have to enable persistence binding to the tape drives. Does anyone know how to do this.
I would appreciate your information.

Is the library direct connected to the HP server, or is there a FC switch in the config as well?

What model is the tape library?
Are you able to see the library robotics from hp-ux?
The storage router map settings are important!!

How many physical drive in the library?

I underatand redundent link to the tape device not supported yet! Do you have 4 or 8 physical drive?

Storerouter information? Model..connection..etc.

Post the full "ioscan -fn" output.

Are there any other hosts attached to the same FC switch the tape library is plugged into - what type? are they running backup software?

The Library is Storage tek library, and it is L7003 model. It has 8 tape drives, and there are other systems using the same tape library. We are using the Legato backup software to backup all of these clients. Just yesterday, we configured just one tape drive to this system, and when tried to mount the tape, the tape is not being mounted. I do not see any error messages. I was wondering if there is any patch I need to install.
