RAC

Dear All

We have the following in our Environment:

1. Two HP rp8400 server, each server has the following :

ï § Four HDD Each is 36GB
ï § Two Fast Ethernet cards 10/100/1000Mbps
ï § Two Fiber Channel Cards
ï § 8 CPU
ï § 16GB RAM

2. MC Service guard license per server
3. OPS (RAC Extension) license per server

4. SAN EVA3000 2C2CD Plus Tape Library MSL5030

5. Two Secure path license each for server

6. Two fiber switches 16 port each

7. Management Appliance for EVA

8. Data protector license ( One drive and on line backup)

Note : the figure display the connections

We want to make npar (partitioning) on each server so each server will have two partitions
And we want to use the Real Application Cluster.

Our question is it possible or still I need other requirements?

Do we need third server to act as quorum server between the four partitions?

How many cluster lock we need in this enviroment?

Re: RAC

Dave,

If you put all 4 nPars in the same cluster you won't need any quorum server or cluster lock device.
