Re: REPLACE CELL BOARD
Everything on the new cell board needs to be the same as the existing cell board.
PSB:
1- i have checked the FW update release notice ( attached file ) an i could find that the components which we can upgrade are "MP , PDC , PDHC " . What about the other components related to system backplane (GPM,FM,OSP) , TO pci backplane (LPM,HS), to cell (LPM,BOB,Drain,SINC).
If the cellboard is good, the backplane should note care. We are not really changing anything on the backplane.
2- Once we finished the FW upgrade, is there any issue with the partition 0 which includes the new cell.
I can think of no other issues. If the two cell boards match on all on board firmware and related issues, you should be good to go.
Do you have a hardware contract? Your technician should know these things.

Re: REPLACE CELL BOARD
Please note that the new cell will replace the current cell ; it will not join the current partition.

Re: REPLACE CELL BOARD
he firmware versions of **all** components in a cabinet must be consistent!!!
See the release notes and compare all the versions!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: REPLACE CELL BOARD
Partition or not, as previously stated, ALL components (including CELLS) in the system cabinet must be at the same Firmware Revisions!

Re: REPLACE CELL BOARD
Just use the current and update all components.
Carefully read and follow the notes - otherwise you can kill the box.
If in doubt, ask HP.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
