Re: RP 4440 Memory carrier board upgradation

Hi Madhu

Base 4440 systems come with one dual core PA8800 1 GHz CPU. For this configuration you must select one memory carrier board with at least one quad of memory

Memories should installed as quads and each quad must consists of equal density of DIMMs
Quads like 4*256 MB 4*512MB.....4*4GB

Re: RP 4440 Memory carrier board upgradation

Thanks for the responce.I am doing a memory carrier board upgradation (16 slot to 32 slot)on RP4440 Server.I have added A9739B(32-DIMM memory carrier board) in place of standard 16 slot memory carrier board. After the upgradation, no display on the Server.I have 2 no.s of A7135A (Dual 1.0 GHZ PA8800) processors on RP 4440 Server.

I suspect problem is because of compatibility issue with the 32 slot memory carrier board.

Re: RP 4440 Memory carrier board upgradation

Normally it is enough to swap the boards and install the dimms in a supported order.
Maybe contact problems?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hi Madhu

Arrange DIMMs so that the quads with the largest capacity are in the lowest numbered slots.

Did you checked contact problems as Torsten sayed
