RP2400 Lan Problem

I recently installe HPUX 11i on a RP2400, and neither the GSP LAN nor the other LAN port will comunicate with my network.
I went into the GSP and did an "lc" to check my config, and it was configured correctly. Also I checked in SAM for the other LAN and it was configured properly. the LAN and the GSP LAN have different ip's, the same subnet mask, the same gateway. I verified that the patch cord was working, I even tried using a cord from another system, but to no avail.
Could this be a config issue, or is it a hardware issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Post the following outputs.

lanscan
ifconfig lan0
or
ifconfig lan1

Also you can find out the status of the lan interface using lanadmin command.

ps -ef | grep net

should list /usr/sbin/inetd

Are you able to ping?

If telnet ony is notworking check /var/adm/inetd.sec

GSP lan totally independent and the GSP lan interface cannot be accessed from OS.

I can ping each lan internally. ie it pings itself, but I cannot ping the network.
Nor can the network ping either interface. The lights on my hub do not light up.
I installed an additional Network card (lan1) into the machine, and it functions properly.

Hi,
I noticed both lans are set same network id.
This is not supported, though you are able to configure. Set the second lan (lan1) to some other IP subnet.

Did you try lanadmin or landiag and checked the status(check for oprating/admin state).

netstat -rn and/or netstat -a would show some useful information.

You're really using a hub and not a switch?
What hub and what speeds does it support?
If you take the cable that is plugged into LAN1 (which works and presumably the hub port LED lights up), and disconnect the host end from LAN1 and connect it to LAN0 and then to the GSP LAN, the HUB port LED does not light up in either case?

Make sure that the GSP LAN port is enabled.
What does a 'LS' (lan status) in the GSP show?

I did a lan scan, you can see the results above.

Also, I an not as concerned about lan0 as I am the gsp lan. the second lan card I installed lan1 is working just fine. I need the gsp lan to upgrade gsp firmware.

the hub that I am using is an HP 28688B 100baseT hub. when move the lan cable from the working lan to the gsp and other lan, the hub light does not light up.

I did an 'ls' in the gsp, and it says that it is enabled. could this be a hardware issue, or is it a configuration issue?

I would definitely say it's a harware problem, except that LAN0 also had a problem.

That hub is an old one, I believe.
Try setting the LC Link State to 10mbit
instead of autonegotiate.
