RP3410 cpu stopped deconfigured

I have two rp3410 each with a dual 800mhz cpu. One system in BCH shows two processors, 1 active and 1 idle, which is normal. My other system shows 1 active and 1 stopped, deconfigured.

I went to the configuration menu and flagged the second cpu for configuration, cpu 1 on, and restarted the system. However, the second cpu still shows up as deconfigured, stopped. I tried this several times with the same results.

Am I missing a step? or could the processor be defective?

Thank you for any help.

Re: RP3410 cpu stopped deconfigured

Could be defective or could be normal. The rp3410 was also sold with 1 core disabled. I would compare the product numbers first.

Hope this helps!

Re: RP3410 cpu stopped deconfigured

hi,

it could be a faulty cpu, but i think its more likely to be as Torsten said.

The system was probably only sold with one cpu lic and activated. You will need to buy an upgrade lic to activate the 2nd core of the cpu.

As you have 2 systems you are fortunate as you can just swap the cpu's over and see how they work. If your "working dual core cpu" only shows as 1 cpu configured in the tohter system then it proves a system limitation. Likewise your 1/2 working cpu should fully work in the other system.

Re: RP3410 cpu stopped deconfigured

I tried switching them but now I get an error

E At System Firmware console

and it hangs.

This happens on both machines and when I swap them back I get the same error and hang

MP SS shows the cpu
