I changed scsi id to 5. Checked bent ping(s), seems to be fine.

kmadmin -k | grep -i tape did not get anything.

Hi Peter.

I think you need to first install your tape drivers on the server.


To do this go to:

sam -> Kernel_configurations -> Drivers -> Stape

It should be "Current stat" -> in "Pendind state" -> in

I think this need reboot. Give it a try.

After this try the other steps that you already know.

After intall the drivers do a:


kmadmin -k | grep -i tape

Hi Peter

Just fine.

Now do the other steps.

- Connect the tape with a SCSI terminator to the server

- Do a ioscan -fun

- do a insf -e

- do a ioscan -funC tape

ok. Now the tape in connect you can do what ever you want.

Create a recovery tape, backup a FS etc .. etc ..
