Re: RP4440 upgrade to 1Ghz Processors

Thanks for the info Timmy. I was hoping someone could give me some kind of explanation. I talked to HP and they said it wouldn't work so we bought a PA8900 1GHz proc and no problems at all.

So is there anything I can do to this PA8800 proc to get it to work in a newer rp4440?? Or will it only work in the rp4410??

Re: RP4440 upgrade to 1Ghz Processors

The original rp4440 was the PA8800 chips, so it will work in the rp4440 just fine, as long as the rp4440 wasn't configured to carry the PA8900 chips, meaning you need an older model to run it in.

The upgrade docs I showed you didn't mention any CE-only configuration, so it must all be in the additional hardware where the conflict occurs. I haven't done any of these upgrades myself, yet, so I haven't been through your experience. Good luck!
