RP7420 Console display problem at boot
I have new rp7420 box. This box has the factory installed HP-UX 11v1 and I want to reinstall it with OS backup from production server which will be demoted to development server. Now when I try to boot from OS backup tape, I gives me error message that console is not comparable(HP). I need to change the console setting to vt100 so it will give installation menu screen... I found some some articles saying about EFI menu... but I cannot get to it...
Anyone have any idea please let me know...
My collegue left for his vacation and now I am dealing with this.. >.<...
Thanks.

Re: RP7420 Console display problem at boot
You need to set your terminal or terminal emulation program to vt100. Usually somewhere in the program properties (hyperterminal etc.)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: RP7420 Console display problem at boot
Open hyperterminal on your client system, set the emulation mode to vt100 (file->properties) and connect to the MP. Switch to the console
MP> co
and boot.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: RP7420 Console display problem at boot
On a C1099A console, F10 then F8 to open settings. From there, you can change emulation type. If your terminal is different, or for more information, search for the model at http://docs.hp.com/ .

Re: RP7420 Console display problem at boot
Well it only gaves me options to configure modem and baud speed... There was nothing about TERM config option...
Where the heck is this option?
Or is there alternative way? Like using my labtop screen as terminal...
Thanks...

Re: RP7420 Console display problem at boot
Just in case of an old HP terminal you should use EM100.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: RP7420 Console display problem at boot
If this still doesn't work then press F8 and look for changing TERM type to vt100 or hp.
