RP8400 Memory issue

Several Dimms are 'HW Dealloc' status when viewed from the BCH menu (DD comand). When we try to allocate on ('DD 0 0A' command), we get message 'not software reconfigurable'??

Re: RP8400 Memory issue

Hi,
What is output of ME command from INformation menu?

Is there any entry in PDT?

Re: RP8400 Memory issue

Yes, There were 11 entries in PDT. ME command showed several DIMM's on Cell Bd. 0 were deconfigured. We tried power on/off several times with no luck. Finally, we swapped cell board 0 and 1, this finally brought the memory back. Not sure why. Could 11 entries in PDT take 8GB offline? I believe the info on the PDT screen output indicated they were correctable errors. ??

Re: RP8400 Memory issue

PDT, deconfigures only error page.
It shouldn't deconfigure the entire DIMM.
Your error type may be double bit.
I believe only single bit errors can correct by itself (by bypassing that area).

IF you replace the DIMM you can clear the PDT table.
