RP8420 Cell Board has 1 VRM Fault --- A Show Stopper?
We've a big deployment ona recently purchased RP8420 with PA-8900 Cores (1100Mhz). As final checks before deciding to go ahead or not, I notice the following when I do a PS.
Everything in SL and FPL however checks out fine... Even EMS and DIAGS do not complain... Should I cancel/abort? And I can just drop this CELL fromthe config... ? This is a 32-core system and initially we only need ~ 20 CPUs...
HW status for Cell 2 : FAILURE DETECTED
Power status : on, 1.2V Module 0, VRM #1 VOLTAGE FAULT
Boot is not blocked
PDH memory is shared
Processor Compatibility : OK
RIO cable status : not connected
RIO cable connection physical location : cannot be determined
Core cell is cell 0
Attention Led is off
PDHC status Leds : ***-

Re: RP8420 Cell Board has 1 VRM Fault --- A Show Stopper?
i know there are 3 x 1.2V VRM in the rp8420 cell board, i.e. VRM 1, 2 and 3, but not sure if they are redundant though.
