Ready to boot/boot is blocked Cell firmware, Error in RP 8400.

Hi,

We have a HP CE working on the following.

He has replaced the Cell 2 on an rp8400 and while booting, the Virtual Front Panel gives the error for cell 2 ( Ready to boot/boot is blocked Cell firmware ).

Do anybody find a similar problem on any rp8400.

Thanks in advance,
Nair.

Nair,
Sounds like he needs to check the firmware between the installed and cells. CM and then SYSREV will give him the info he needs. He should then be able to FW and match firmware between entities.

Good Luck - Tim

Nair,

Boot is Blocked isn't an error in itself. If there is no "E" next to the cell in VFP then all is good. All you need to do from that point it go to CM> and do a CM>BO to boot the partition. If there is an "E" next to the cell at VFP then check the MP Error Logs. If you cut and paste them here I can decode them for you. Hopefully by now your CE has already resolved the problem. Good Luck.

It was related to Cell mal-function. CE resolved by updating the firmware.

Thanks Guys.
