Resetting GSP to factory defaults
I have a client who inherited a couple of L class servers.
Unfortunately they didn't inherit the admin password for the GSPs.
Is there a way to reset them to factory default so they can set them up with their IP's etc.?
TIA and points for all responses.
Sean

Re: Resetting GSP to factory defaults
if you run the command
# stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
from the console, a message like
"press 'p' within 5 sec to reset all user accounts" will come up.
Best regards,
Robert-Jan

Re: Resetting GSP to factory defaults
We tried a reset of the GSP and held "d" until the GSP prompt came back but still no joy.
We can log in with no username/password but when we try to use the LC command to modify the IP it says that we need to be an administrator to use that command.
Logging in with the default Admin account fails.

Re: Resetting GSP to factory defaults
I've added some additional GSP notes which may be of use..........
You can check the GSP from the command line by running this command: stty +queryGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
It should come back with "GSP is functional".
Run the following command on the command line to "reboot" the GSP (without rebooting the server): stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
When you run this command you will get a prompt on the console: "Press 'p' now to clear all GSP passwords and users...". If you press "p" and then confirm it (you only have a few seconds to respond), the GSP user/password info is wiped. Your LAN info is kept however (you can change it anytime because you now have root ability).
On some servers you have a tiny button on the back of the server. Press it using a pen or pencil. This will also reboot the GSP.

Re: Resetting GSP to factory defaults
Did you try login as 'Admin' & password: Admin
Both case sensitive.

Re: Resetting GSP to factory defaults
you can reset it easily there is a very small
button back of the console and i guess resetting GSP will solve your problem..
Good Luck,
