Serial card on rp8400

Is there a serial card besides the MUX card, something like a 2 port PCI serial interface card that will work to hook up a modem device
many thanks

Re: Serial card on rp8400

The only cards I can find that are close to what you are asking for are multi-port serial MUX cards:

A6748A - 8-port PCI serial MUX

A6749A - 64-port PCI serial MUX

See http://www.software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=TermIO00

Each server also has built-in or core MUX/serial ports that are usually used for modem connections.

If you want to set up the modem connection for console, you can use the bult-in serial port labeled "Remote". All other modem connections require a MUX card, like A6748A PCI 8 port serial MUX adapter.

Hookemhorns,

You have serial port on your coreio card in the RP8400 that can be used for a modem connection. Depending on how your RP8400 is configured you may have two coreio cards giving you two usable serial ports for modems.
