Server Serial number (K-Class) !!
Admins,
Can someone help, how to find the server serial number (9000/889/K460).
Options tried/not worked: (with right syntax):
>> /opt/ignite/bin/print_manifest
>> getconf
>> CSTM/MSTM
Any other option left to find serial number of a K-Class box.
Regds, WH

Re: Server Serial number (K-Class) !!
The *only* way:
read it from the chassis!
it is not stored in the memory.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Server Serial number (K-Class) !!
Only the newest servers have an electronic serial number. There is nothing to read for K or D or T class computers. You'll have to send someone to the computer room to read the serial number. Note that if you have several K-class boxes, someone may have mixed up the front covers so the actual serial number on the sticker in back may not match the door. Tell the runner to take a flashlight and verify the sticker number in back if accuracy is important.
