Service Processor Settings ??

I have some new RP3440 servers and was told to go into the service process and make sure of the time zone setting for Eastern Standard Time and the power monitor setting to monitor both A & B.

Could you tell me where to find these and how to set them if incorrect.

Thanks

Re: Service Processor Settings ??

Hi Mike,

service processor is the term for Management Processor (MP)

see doc
"hp 9000 rp3410 and hp 9000 rp3440
Installation Guide" - page 62
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/A7136-96005/A7136-96005.pdf

But time zone setting is done in HP-UX, not in MP. Time zone value is stored in /etc/TIMEZONE file. You can change this value by shell script

/etc/set_parms timezone

Zygmunt

Thanks, I found this page in the manual but it only talks about network connections. I was told I needed to set the Power Monitor to both A & B where it comes by default with A monitored only.

I've been looking through the MP options and can't find this one any where.

Re: Service Processor Settings ??

Hi Mike,

That's in the PWRGRD command of the MP - at least it is on an rp7410.
See if your MP has that command - run HE from the main menu to see all available commands.
I don't have a 3440 here to check.

Re: Service Processor Settings ??

Hi Mike,

A & B stands for A & B grid power system in rp7410/rp7420 and rp8400/rp8420.

rp3440 has simpler power system, and has no such options in MP.
