Hi,

Can I connect the external DDS-3 tape drive (Single Ended SCSI) to Fast Wide Differential card A4800A ? Are they compatible ?

Hi,

Nope, you cannot connect your DDS3 external tape drive to A4800A. They are not compatible.

DDS3 tape drive need to connect to SE SCSI port.

hi,

no these two are not compatible.

you will need to use/purchase a SE SCSI I/F for your system.

The A4800A is a FWD PCI I/F so you will need a SE Scsi PCI card for your system.

Not only are they not compatible, you could damage one, or both, of the components if you connect them together.

Single Ended SCSI = Low Voltage Differential SCSI

Fast Wide Diff = High Voltage Differential SCSI
