I have two disks: one with 34732 Mb and the other one with 8678 Mb. I create a volume group. My logical volumes are created with the strip option. When i want to increase the size of my logical volumes i got an error message. I understand that the disks must be the same size. How do i "unstripped" my logical volumes ?

Solution
In order to stripe the disks do not have to be the same size though that does tend to make things easier. In your case, there was simply not enough PE's left on your smaller disk to allow the lvol to grow. You should be able to create a new unstripped lvol (and specify your larger disk) and then copy your old lvol's contents to it.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Stripped filesystems
Hi Alferdo
You donot unstripe a volume actually when you create using lvcreate you can specify whehter the volume has to be stripped or not , however please note that the reciovery time is faster in case of a striped volumed and so is the response . You can just recreate the lvol again.
