SuperDome cell board compatibility
There are 3 kinds of cell boards before pa8800 processor for HP 9000 SuperDome.
A5206A for PA8600 550MHz
A6445A for PA8700 750MHz
A6862A for PA8700+ 875MHz
Is there any compatibility among them? That is A6862A support PA8700 and PA8600 CPU? and A6445A support PA8600 CPU?
Regards

Re: SuperDome cell board compatibility
Hi,
There is no downward compatibility. So the cell boards are meant for that particular CPU speed only.
A5206A for PA8600 550MHz
A6445A for PA8700 750MHz
A6862A for PA8700+ 875MHz
You cannot mix them up.

Re: SuperDome cell board compatibility
While prior to the pa-8800 you could put different cell boards in a Superdome as long as they were if different nPartitions. That changed with the pa-8800 cell boards, and they cannot be in the same Superdome even in separate hard partitions.
