Re: Superdome Firmware
The short answer on this one is (particularly for Superdome customers)- get HP to do it - this sort of thing should ceratinly be covered by your support contract.
If you don't have HP support then you could have a problem as I don't believe HP mke Superdome firmware available to 3rd parties (I could be wrong about that though...)

Re: Superdome Firmware
Can you post the firmware versions on this thread, SD1, SD2, SD3 etc. To find out the current Firmware versions do:
CTRL b
CM
CM>SYSREV
What SMS(s) do you have? HPUX and/or Windows?
It is correct that you should really have a qualified HP CE perform the Firmware Upgrades.

Phil

Re: Superdome Firmware
SD1, This machine (PA87) is up to date apart
from the GSP which could be 7.34
So, no great loss.
I'd leave it alone.
SD2-5
You are currently running rel_5.0
Subsequent releases are
rel_5.1
rel_6.0
rel_6.1
rel_6.2 Changes to Itanium F/W only
rel_6.3 Latest for PA8800 or 8900
rel_7.0 Changes to Itanium F/W only
You would need to update your SMS first to:
rel_6.1
This is because you need to update the
SMS tools/Scan-SW etc
HPUX SMS: PF_CIDOMEH0601.tar.gz (86MB)
Windows SMS: PF_CIDOMEW0601.tar.gz (86MB)
then..
you need to put the final rel_6.3 bundle on
which is common to both types of SMS:
h_pa_sx1000_rel_6.3.tar.gz (6MB)
It is reasonably simple if you are experinced
in doing this work, but not so if its your
first time.
If you had a Flash corruption, and did it
yourself then i expect it would cost a
few ├В┬г├В┬г├В┬г├В┬г├В┬г's to replace the damaged H/W
So, It might be better to get HP to do it
just to be safe.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Phil
