Superdome strange Root disk IO Problem
Problem descrrption:16way Superdome,disks in ds2300 of partition p1 & p2 often get scsi error. It makes os hang since they are root disk or swap disk. Disks in p0 have no problem. Disk is ST318451LC. f/w is hp01 in p0, hp01 in p1, hp01 and hp03 in p2. Ds2300 BCC f/w is hp04 in p0, hp05 in p1, hp04 & hp05 in p2.
When os hang, one of two root disks would disapper(not unclaimed or fail) used "ioscan","dd" & "diskinfo" will fail. Restart system, disk display the same information. But if I restart ds2300 and then restart SD, the "disapper" disk will come back.
Do any one have some idea about this issue?
Attachment is HPMC.
thx in advance

Re: Superdome strange Root disk IO Problem
It is possible your DS2300 is configured/set-up incorrectly.
The following is the DS2300's userguide. Check that the wayyou've split it as boot subsystem for your 2 nPars is correct.
