Support of obsolete HP9000 kit

Hello

One of our clients has offices in Ireland

They need hardware support on obsolete HP9000 kit

Can anyone recommend a 3rd-party outfit that can cover one or both of these areas?

i] The Republic of Ireland [mainly Dublin]
ii] Northern Ireland

Thank you
Regards
Mike

Re: Support of obsolete HP9000 kit

Hertz has reservation offices in Swords (beautiful part of the globe I might add), and we use HP for all our maintenance.

While they can be expensive for obsolete hardware, they can usually get it fixed.

Otherwise, you might consider having cold standby parts or whole machines onsite and swap out when something breaks.

Harry:
No problem with finding the parts

John:
1] & the colleens
2] Too old - HP will not consider
3] Good idea - that puts me halfway there, but...

Could do with a 3rd party who'll install replacements on a next day basis

Any names of outfits anyone?

If logica aren't your customer I could send a buddy an email who'd probably have the answer, alternatively you could ask at:

Say Bill from Dublin sent you!

Later,
Bill

The best way is to talk to HP themsleves , in case they have a support there , I would also recommend that you build a standby inventory of some critcal stuff so that the support is easy .

Some companies do support and stock obsolete stuff.

Re: Support of obsolete HP9000 kit

Comsys are on one of the main transport axes in Dublin - near the horse racecourse where I won a lot of cash last Christmas - they do 4/8 hour support, and have old 9000 h/w. For Dublin, I don't see you doing much better quickly.
For Belfast, you're talking a 4 hour drive from Dublin, but if you need quicker, I cqn qsk my buddies in ipse-solutions.com, Belfast, who work extensively with hp..

Manoj:
Yeah I know Alimar - good people.
We're in the same business so it's not the h/ware
It's having access to an engineer/outfit who's close enough to the client locations to fit the h/ware if necessary
FYI: HP do of course have an Irish presence, but not for stuff this OBSOLETE

Bill:
Appreciated
Perhaps you can send me the name of a contact at Comsys or wherever?
