I currently have a RP7410 installed in a rack.i
am expecting a RP7420 which will be installed
in the same rack.My question is there away around using the current terminal on the RP7410
Which can be used for both servers,or does it
need its own terminal.

Re: Terminal
Yes you can use it for both terminal, you just have to move connector from the 7410 to the 7420 when you want to

Re: Terminal
yes - you can use it.
On the market there is a lot of serial switches
which can you use to switch between systems.
Another way is using telnet connection to GSP (rp7410) or MP (rp7420).
You can use telnet and serial connection concurently.

Re: Terminal
It depends on the terminal type. If you have two serial connection in the terminal, you can switch between them in terminal settings menu.
BTW, why don't you use lan-consol ? This is very convenient and reliable.
Good luck.

SolutionAnother alternative is to replace all the serial consoles in the data center with a multiport terminal concentrator such as Cyclades or Raritan.
