Re: Trim Card (A3639-60026)
Hey A,
Well...thay's the way these things happen.
I would say that the one thing you could probably track it down to is - load.
You've probably hit the tipping point.
Our's were *just* like that - out of the blue.
My point is that ANY 8 CPU B-rev board *needs* a trim board - period!
Make 'em work - you got a contract - right?
My 2 cents,
Jeff

Re: Trim Card (A3639-60026)
Yesterday HP installed the Trim Card and we reconfigured the system to use all the 8 CPUs. However during boot-time hardware tests the system reported two errors:
ALERT LEVEL: 4 = Unexpected configuration change detected
REASON FOR ALERT
SOURCE: 8 = I/O
SOURCE DETAIL: 3 = local bus adapter SOURCE ID: FF
PROBLEM DETAIL: 3 = function failure
and
ALERT LEVEL: 6 = Boot possible, pending failure - action required
REASON FOR ALERT
SOURCE: 8 = I/O
SOURCE DETAIL: 3 = local bus adapter SOURCE ID: FF
PROBLEM DETAIL: 6 = configuration error
After acknowledging these errors the system booted successfully, but I noticed that the I/O path 0/12 disappeared from the system. This corresponds to the PCI slot #3. There is currently no adapter installed in this slot, but we get the same error each time the system is booted.
Are there any Trimp Card users with the same problem? Or is this an unrelated problem?

Re: Trim Card (A3639-60026)
Your LBA (Local Bus Adapter) connected to the PCI slot 3 path 0/12/0 seems to be gone.
You will probably need a new PCI backplane. I don't think this is related to the trim card. Call HP for resolving this issue!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Trim Card (A3639-60026)
Blackplane is replaced and now all slots are working fine.
Also, after the trim card was installed to the system more than three weeks passed (running with 8 CPUs) and no system crash occurred.
