UPS Connectivity

Dear ALL,
I have a problem connecting PowerWare UPS to UPS port on HP 9000 Server rp5470 (HP-UX 11i).
Actually SAM UPS option does not recognize the UPS when daemon is activated(syslog).
Also I have install LanSafe3 SW for HP-UX 11i, but the result is the same.
On the other hand this UPS with same communication cable works on W2K O.S.
I check the pin out of communication cable (RS232 9pin). The pin out is pin_to_pin.
Please help.

I'm not familiar with this UPS, but I remember when installing APC Symmetra UPS there's a special cable made for hpux. So please consult UPS user's manual if there's any other cable necessary. In addition, do you have CD disk for this UPS? Maybe additional software installation is required in order for UPS to be recognized.
Generally you should call UPS manufacturer/reseller to get more details on configuration

Goran,
SAM and upsmond are designed to work with the PowerTrust UPS and no other model. You will never find the PowerWare UPS ion SAM. So follow the instruction that came with the software from the UPS vendor.
