Unable to boot 10.20 on K580 box

Try removing all but CPU0. THere was a problem with the Kx70/Kx80 systems and 10.20 that would prevent an OS boot with multiple processors. A patch is required (PHKL_12514) to run 10.20 in a multi CPU environment. I dont know what version of 10.20 where this patch was added, but this is something to look at.

The CD is July 1996 series 8xx release 10.20

It would seem that you may have to use robert's suggestion, since july 1996 was the first release of 10.20 and wouldn't have any patches yet.

Well you know, you have the 1st intro of 10.20 so if I were you I'd get something a little more recent like the last version of 10.20 issued on 6/30/2002.

Does anyone know where I can get the latest 10.20 made, I know they are discontinued, but I have a standalone machine for recovery and need this 10.20 CD. I can't seem to find it on the HP site.

Maybe it would be easier to make an ignite tape on a current server running 10.20 and install it on the K580 that way.

I am in a total standalone enviroment and don't have 10.20 running anywhere. This is why I am frustrated now on getting another CD. Am I at a lost unless I get a later 10.20 version? Thx

Maybe it's none of my business, but if you don't have 10.20 running anywhere, then why do you need to load it on this server for recovery?

I don't know where you could get a newer copy of 10.20 but you might check the used market. last time I checked, nobody was willing to give up their copy.

I myself have a July 1997 copy, but I don't think that it has the correct patch, since the release date on the patch is 11/97. Have you tried robert's suggestion of removing the other processors to install it?
