I am planning to upgrade Firmware on our existing servers:
1. What command can be used to know what the current version of firmware on server HPUX 11.00/11.11?
2. What is the latest firmware can be upgraded to?
3. What are the steps (command) to do the upgrade? Do we need a downtime/reboot?
Please help. Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Dewa

Re: Upgrade Firmware
Login to GSP and then see help on fw.
The version of each updateable entity can be displayed using the SYSREV
command, or using the firmware update command (FW from the command menu).
The entities are listed below, along with the hardware and function.
Firmware Entity Hardware and function
=============== =====================
MP 0,1,2,3 Management Processor firmware which includes the UI,
power management, cabinet utilities and partition
console interface. One MP is required for each
partition.
PDHC 0,1,2,3 Processor Dependent Hardware Controller firmware
which monitors and controls the cell interface.
SFW 0,1,2,3 System FirmWare which runs at power up to
configure the cell board (see HE BOOT).
Correct operation of the system cannot be guaranteed if the
installed firmware combination is not an authorized release.

Re: Upgrade Firmware
There is a way in which you need to upgrade the firmware. I will post it once I get it.
Yo wull definitely need a down time to make the system work with the latest firmware. (atleast for system firmware (PDC))
