You need to patching the rp4440 system first. And you need also to patching rx4640 system after you upgrade. So you need to set of the patch/firmware, I refer you to get both patch/firmware.
Just type 'rp4440' to get the firmware for this system.

Re: Upgrade rp4440 to rx4640
What OS is running right now? 11iv1 or 11iv2
You may need to reinstall the OS!
As suggested first upgrade the firmware for rp4440, then replace the processor and change switch settings, then update firmware again for rx.

Re: Upgrade rp4440 to rx4640
Can you open a HP support call and request the support engineer to open a Server Hardware WTEC call for further assistance? You can provide this ITRC message copy for reference.
And can you let HP support engineer know how the customer got an upgrade kit (not processor modules) with which HP product number? Or did they just purchase new IPF2 CPU modules for their upgrade?
Please provide the system serial number of RP4440 to HP support engineer and we can track the shipment history. If you know the HP sales order number of the system rp4440, it should help us.
