Upgrade rp4440 to rx4640

The upgrade from rp4440 to rx4640 is 'simple':

1. Order the AB381A rp4440 to rx4640 Upgrade Kit.

2. Upgrade your HP-UX 11i operating system from Version 1 to Version 2.

3. Order the Itanium Processors.

4. Update the system firmware

5. Install the processors.

to get the firmware:

click firmware
select the appropriate firmware.

currently these are the patches to install:
PHSS_33094
PHSS_33090

I am afraid the patch PHSS_33090 is valid only for rx4640 and it should fail on rp4440 as below.

NOTE: The firmware delivered in PHSS_33090 does not apply to the hardware model '9000/800/rp4440 ' so the patch will be excluded from installation.

This is why Jure needs to get a special firmware update patch for the system upgrade.

Note: You need to use "SWINSTALL" to install a new firmare for the upgrade. If you do not have the upgrade kit, please do not try it. There is no firmware downgrade tool from RX4640 to RP4440.
